How often do you make time to stop and be present?
Do you have a fond memory of being present? What was it? How do you make time/space/energy for being present?
You could say I came late to the party. Or that life got in the way. Or that I was too busy having adventure. But really I think it was more like I didn’t quite know what I wanted to do ‘when I grew up’, so I tried many things.
I honestly can’t remember where I first heard this tip, but one of the best and simplest things I’ve ever done at work –to keep morale up, to ensure I maintain awareness of my strengths, and to prepare for development conversations with my supervisor–is to create a “Happy” folder in Outlook.
