Message from the Outgoing Chair

It is with immense pride and gratitude that I reflect on our past year. Our 2023-2024 academic year was marked by significant growth, innovation, and collaboration. I am truly inspired by the dedication of the Utah Women in Higher Education Network – University of Utah Chapter Board and our campus community. 

Our focus on advancing women in career, community, and leadership has yielded impressive results. We hosted a successful State UWHEN leadership event, bringing together over 100 employees from multiple universities to our campus. Additionally, we launched a virtual platform  to connect our UWHEN – University of Utah Chapter network to each other. We were also able to bring back the Linda K. Amos Award in celebration of Women’s Week and partnership with the Presidential Commission on the Status of Women. On top of all of this, our chapter enhanced the consistency in our Book Clubs and Women of the U Social eventsand introduced Wellness Walks.  

Now, as I pass the baton to our Chair, Cassie Zamora-Cathcart, M.S., I am so excited for the future. Cassie's leadership experience and shared vision will undoubtedly launch the UWHEN – University of Utah Chapter to new heights. Over this last year, Cassie and I have created a strong bond as we have created a shared vision and pathway of growth for this Chapter and our personal careers in transition. Cassie has become my thought partner. Together, we have built a strong foundation and community for UWHEN – University of Utah Chapter and for our personal development. I am excited for you all to get to know Cassie as I have. 

I want to express my sincere gratitude for the opportunity to serve as your Chair. It has been an honor to lead and grow alongside you. Let’s continue to build.
